The answer is yes. Absolutely.
Every year, thousands of couples foreigners choose to France to celebrate their marriage. And honestly, this has nothing surprising.
Between the French castles, the fields in Provence, the villas on the Côte d’azur, vineyards, Paris or even small villages full of charm, France remains one of the most sought-after destinations in the world to organize a destination wedding.
And contrary to what many imagine, it is quite possible to organize a wedding in France without speaking French.
This request simply :
· good organization,
· providers who are accustomed to international marriages,
· and a cover capable of make the entire experience smooth, safe and enjoyable.
As a wedding photographer specializing in destination weddings in France, I regularly accompanies couples from the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada or other european countries who want to live an elegant wedding and authentic in France.
With time, I realized that the language barrier was finally never the biggest challenge.
What really matters, is to feel surrounded by a team that is able to understand your vision, your story and experience that you want to create for your guests.

Why couples foreigners choose France for their wedding ?
France has something unique.
A mix between :
· elegance,
· heritage,
· gastronomy
· romance,
· light,
· architecture,
· and the art of living.
For many international couples, to organize a wedding in France is much more than a mere ceremony.
It’s a true experience.
A trip. A moment out of time. A way of bringing together the most important people of their life in an exceptional setting.
Some dream of a wedding in a French castle. Others imagine a ceremony intimate-en-Provence. Some want to get married in Paris. Others prefer the vineyards, villages in the south or the landscapes of the Champagne.
And it is precisely this diversity that makes the destination weddings in France so unique.

Hold a destination wedding in France without speaking French : is it complicated ?
Honestly, a lot less than a few years ago.
Today, a large portion of the professionals of the marriage premium in France regularly work with couples foreigners.
The exchange is done very easily in English.
In the sector of destination wedding, it became normal to work with international clients.
This includes :
· the wedding planners,
· photographers,
· videographers,
· florists
· the make-up,
· DJs,
· the officiants,
· areas and places of receipt.
And this dramatically changes the experience of couples.
The goal is that you can take full advantage of the preparations without feeling the constant stress of the language or cultural differences.

The wedding planner : an essential element for a wedding in France
When a couple is organising a wedding from abroad, the wedding planner is often the center piece of the entire organization.
Its role goes well beyond the simple co-ordination of the day.
It allows :
· organize trade with the providers, French,
· manage the logistics,
· help on certain aspects of administration,
· organize visits to distance,
· coordinate the accommodations,
· to create a schedule that is fluid,
· and most importantly greatly simplify the whole experience.
A wedding planner accustomed to international marriages is also known :
· cultural differences,
· the specific needs of couples, foreign,
· constraints related to the movement,
· and the functioning of destination weddings in France.
And honestly, this changes everything.

Marriage civil or symbolic ceremony in France ?
This is an important point to understand for couples foreigners.
It is necessary to distinguish :
· civil marriage official,
· and the symbolic ceremony.
Civil marriage in France
To marry officially in France, certain administrative procedures can be more complex, for couples foreigners.
The rules vary depending on :
· your nationality,
· your place of residence,
· and your administrative status.
This is why many international couples choose :
· perform civil marriage in their country of origin,
· and then arrange a symbolic ceremony in France.
And honestly, this offers a lot more freedom.
You can :
· choose the place that you really like,
· organise a personalised ceremony,
· avoid some of the administrative burdens,
· and create an experience so much more immersive for your guests.

Why the guest experience becomes unique in a destination wedding ?
One of the biggest benefits of having a wedding in France, is that marriage often becomes much more than a single day.
Guests generally live a true experience of trip.
Very often, couples arrange :
· a welcome dinner,
· brunch,
· a wine tasting,
· visits,
· group activities,
· moments informal for several days.
And this creates an atmosphere totally different from one classic wedding.
Exchanges are becoming more profound. The guests actually take the time to enjoy it together. The pace is slower. More human. More emotional.
This is what I truly love to photograph in destination weddings : all this life between the big moments.
France offers decorations incredible wedding photos

One of the greatest strengths of a wedding in France is, of course, the richness of the landscapes.
Each region has a visual identity that is totally different.
Between :
· the lavender fields in Provence,
· the vineyards of Champagne,
· the French chateau,
· the stone villages,
· the streets of paris,
· the mountains,
· the beaches of the Côte d’azur,
· the areas of historical,
… the possibilities are immense.
And even if a couple does not speak French, the emotions always tell the same story.
Because a glance. A hand that trembles. A smile. A burst of laughter. A tear. A gesture of tender.
… do not need to be translated.

The photographer’s role becomes even more important
When a couple has organised his marriage in another country, the human relationship with the suppliers that takes an enormous importance.
And especially with the photographer.
The photographer is this :
· during the preparations,
· the intimate moments,
· the strong emotions,
· the time calm,
· trade with friends
· and sometimes even several days.
It often becomes a reassuring presence throughout the experience.
My approach relies heavily on the soft and natural.
I always take the time to :
· explain how,
· guide the couples of course,
· create a sense of fluid,
· to help the people who are not comfortable in front of the lens,
· and above all to tell the story of the marriage of a sincere way, and elegant.
Because in the end, the couples get the most, this is not only the beauty of the place.
This is what they felt.

A few tips to organize a wedding in France without speaking French
Choose providers who are accustomed to international marriages
This is probably the most important point.
Providers experienced in destination weddings know :
· communicate easily,
· reassure,
· adapt,
· and anticipate the specific needs of couples foreigners.
Allow enough time for the organisation
Destination weddings often require more anticipation.
Between :
· travel,
· accommodation,
· the logistics,
· exchanges at a distance,
· and the availability of places,
… it is often preferable to begin the organization between 12 and 18 months before the wedding.
Centralized exchanges
Have a main contact person — often the wedding planner — greatly simplifies the communication.
This avoids :
· misunderstandings
· information that was lost,
· and the differences in operation between countries.
Allow several days on site
One of the most beautiful aspects of a wedding in France is just to fully enjoy the trip.
Allow a few days before and after the wedding allows you to :
· slow down,
· take advantage of the close,
· to discover the area,
· and to avoid a pace that is too intense.

What I like deep in destination weddings in France
What I find beautiful in these marriages, it is the mixture of cultures and emotions.
Couples sometimes come from very far away to live a few days surrounded by people they love most.
There is often something more intimate. More intense. Almost out of time.
And finally, regardless of the language spoken : emotions always tell the essential.
